Beauty and the Beast

This afternoon Anna Claire and I went to see the Carolina Ballet perform Beauty and the Beast.  It was a little different from the Disney version, so in Anna Claire's words..."It was confusable, I have never seen a monkey in the real movie."  We met Emma, her best friend from school, and had a great time!

On the way home Kim asked us to pick up some deodorant and here was our conversation after I got off the phone:
AC:  What is doedorant?
Me:  It is something adults wear under their arms so they do not stink.
AC:  Why do grown-ups wear it?
Me:  So we won't stink.
AC:  Oh, well you know why kids don't have to wear it?
Me:  Why not?
AC:  Because we take baths and the soap makes us smell good.  So kids do not have to wear it.
Me:  Really?
AC:  Well, I guess that is why, I think.

Fridays on the Front Porch!

On Fridays in the spring and summer the Carolina Inn has music and picnic style food on the front lawn.  We usually meet up with the derm residents and enjoy the outdoors before we go out to eat.  The girls dance and play!

The Vacation Must End!

Today was our last day on the beach.  We woke up to a beautiful, sunny day.  The girls played and wore themselves out for the drive home.  Anna Claire thought we had bought the condo, and couldn't understand why we had to come home.  We had a great relaxing vacation!

Rainy Days at the Beach

With a little cooler weather and some rain, we decide to play games and put together  a puzzle.  We also went out to eat at Sugar Creek.  (If anyone is headed to the outer banks, I recommend it!)  A great relaxing day with some great food!

Fun in the Sun!

Time to Relax!

Today we had a beautiful day on the beach.  The girls built sandcastles and made soup.  Kim tried out a little skim boarding.  Wonder if he will be sore in the morning?  Anna Claire "practiced" running in the water, while Daddy was practicing. And Gracie decided she wanted to be like Daddy so she took her swimsuit off, and ran around in nothing but a diaper.  Everyone thought she was just so cute!  We ended the evening with some fresh fried flounder for supper.  Boy, am I getting spoiled this week, Kim has cooked three suppers in a row!

A Lighthouse and Buried Alive!

This morning was a little chilly, so we decided to ride to Cape Hatteras to see the tallest lighthouse in the nation. The girls weren't allowed to climb to the top, so we waited at the bottom as Kim climbed. We played out on the beach when we got home. The girls loved burying Kim, and left him in the sand for a while.

Today we are also celebrating our sixth wedding anniversary!

Beach Fun!

Last night we finally got to our condo and the girls could hardly wait until morning.  We had a beautiful day on the beach.  The water was a little cold, ok, a lot cold, but the sun was out and the breeze kept us cool.  The girls played and played in the sand, and loved it.  We just finished a great supper of shrimp, potatoes, corn, and squash.  Kim surprises me when he gets in the kitchen!

Pony Rides

Just as I am trying to get the girls calmed down and ready for bed, Kim offers pony rides. Nothing like getting them all excited right before bed!  Gracie was a little unsure of this, but Anna Claire loved it.

Sacked Out!

From Passed Out

Yesterday evening I went in the den to get the girls for supper, and someone was totally sacked out. We had a busy afternoon and missed naptime!

Bathroom Jobs

While daddy was busy working hard tiling our bathroom floor, the girls decided their bathroom mirror needed cleaning.  They filled their toothbrush bucket with water, and cleaned the mirror with their toothbrushes.  What a mess!  They had water everywhere, but it did keep them busy for about 30 minutes.  Their mirror is sparkling and our floor looks great.  We now have no linoleum in our house!
