An Adventure!

Today we went to Childersburg, AL to visit DeSoto Caverns. It was quite the adventure. We arrived and the girls began panning for gemstones. They loved finding pretty colored rocks in the sand!

Next we explored the DeSoto's Lost Trail Maze. This is a 3/4 acre maze that we traveled through completely. Right in the middle of this journey the rain began and it poured! We could not find the exit and ended up completely soaked! There was nothing to do but laugh and splash in the puddles.

I decided we should go do something inside, so we went on the cave tour. I didn't think about it being 60 degrees in the cave! A little cold since we were soaking wet. The girls were a little scared of the dark, but we enjoyed seeing the incredible cave formations!

By the end of the tour Anna Claire was beginning to enjoy it, but Gracie was still scared.

After the cave tour, we played in the bounce house until the rain came again. Hopefully next time we will miss the rain! There are many more activities to try.

This morning we decided to have a party! We began our day by baking chocolate chip cupcakes and making tea. After everything was ready, we dressed up and had a sweet tea party complete with many babies and animals!

Fourth of July Weekend!

Butterflies!!!

Over the last couple weeks we raised butterflies! We received the caterpillars in the mail...

They formed chrysalis...

And this morning we woke up to...

BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES!!!

Anna Claire

What a busy little girl! She is in school Tuesday and Thursday. On Wednesday she starts the day with playgroup, goes to ballet, tap and acro in the afternoon, and has started mission friends in the evening. She loves singing, dancing, swinging, reading, and dressing up. Her favorite television shows are Dora, Barney, and any Disney Princess. She loves playing with baby dolls. Her favorite games are Candy Land and Memory. She is beginning to be such a great helper. She likes to make her bed, set the table, fold some laundry, and put away dishes. She has the memory of an elephant. She doesn't forget anything, especially promises!

Gracie

This sweet little girl is trying her best to keep up with her big sister! She doesn't have quite as many activities on her calendar but we are working on that. She does have storytime on Tuesday mornings and playgroup on Wednesday mornings. She is starting to listen to us when we read a book, rather that just turn pages. She is pointing out her different body parts, but gets nose and toes mixed up, and thinks it is so funny. She also loves playing with baby dolls, and is really interested in tickling and kissing real babies. She is saying new things everyday. Just like her sister and daddy she loves music and dancing. Her favorite television shows are Dora and Barney. She loves shoes and tries to put on any she can find. She is also a big helper...She likes to take her diaper to the trash can along with other things. The thing she is most scared of is her shadow.
