Rainy Days

Friday evening the girls and I started our trip to Alabama. We stopped and stayed with our Great Aunt Hilda on Friday night and had a great time! Anna Claire talked her ears off. I don't think I got a word in the whole evening. Saturday morning we got up and drove the rest of the way to Camden. The rain started right about the Georgia/Alabama line and continued the rest of the way. The girls did great and were so excited to finally get here. We have had lots of rain but are enjoying our time inside. Sunday morning the girls went to Sunday School with Gran and Sunday afternoon it did stop raining for a little while and Anna Claire got to go swimming. The water was cold and she was shivering, but she and Grandaddy had a ball. Today we are lounging around in our jammies watching the rain. They are so excited KiKi is home to play!

Sit Down!

Gracie thinks she is to big to sit correctly in the high chair. Every time we tell her to sit down, she proceeds to sit like this. Feet propped up and all!

New Flower Bed

This week we dug up all the monkey grass around our mailbox and planted some flowers. Anna Claire was so excited to help out. I took her to get a haircut while Kim was finishing up and she could hardly wait to get home to water the new flowers. We dug the monkey grass earlier in the week and she told me it did not look very cute and we needed some pink and purple flowers. When she saw the flowers she was very proud and said it looked so much better! Now lets just hope we can keep them alive.

Streaker

Gracie thinks it is so funny to take her diaper off and run around naked! If she doesn't have something covering it you better watch out. Every time we put it on her she would go in the other room and come back with diaper in hand. She would just laugh as she showed us her new trick!

Ear Tubes

This morning we were up bright and early for Gracie's tympanostomy (ear tube placement). After fighting constant ear infections since November, we decided it would be best. She did a great job! She didn't cry until she saw me coming into recovery to get her, and as soon as I picked her up she was fine. She was a little droopy for about an hour afterwards, but played hard all afternoon! She even managed to throw my cell phone in the garbage can without me knowing. When I went looking for it, she went over to the trash can, opened it, and pointed inside saying look, look!

Thanks to Gran and Grandaddy for a big, soft elephant!
A stuffed animal makes everything better!

Lazy Sunday Afternoon!

Durham Bulls Baseball

Sunday evening the girls experienced their first baseball game. Anna Claire was sure we were at the Olympkicks, aka Olympics. We had a great time even with a heavy rain that left Kim and Anna Claire soaking wet. It did stop raining after about 15 minutes, and we enjoyed a hotdog, nachoes and cotton candy while we watched the game.

Musical Talent?

Anna Claire and Gracie found Kim's harmonica and have been playing with it for 2 days now! Gracie has figured out how to make noise with it and thinks it is so funny.

Weaver Street Market

As you know, Anna Claire is a big fan of music, just like her Daddy! On Sunday's there is bluegrass music on the lawn of the Carborro Weaver Street Market, so we met up with some other auxiliary families and had a lunch. Anna Claire loved the music, but asked if we could go back to the Carolina Inn on Friday evening. After the "music" Anna Claire and I went to the movies and saw Wall-e with a friend who works with Kim. It was a great movie. This was her second movie (the first was Happy Feet). She did a great job sitting through it and is already talking about what we are going to see next!

Goggles!

We made it to the goggle store! Now we just have to go back to the pool.

Swimming Accomplishments!

Friday we spent the morning at the pool and Anna Claire was showing off like crazy. She saw Timmy going under, so she decided she could do it too. It took lots of trying, but she finally did it and kept doing it. She was so excited and proud of herself! She also decided she could jump in the big pool all by herself. She went under a couple times when she jumped in and wasn't too sure about that but she kept jumping. She said we needed to go to the goggle store! I hope you enjoy the videos!
